On Oct.18, staff from the Yale New Haven Health Heart and Vascular Center in North Haven and Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) Internal Medicine in Hamden participated in the annual Greater New Haven Heart Walk at Hubbard Park in Meriden.
Team Rhythm Nation, led by Tameeka Parks, supervisor, ambulatory operations, New Haven, walked to help raise funds for the American Heart Association (AHA) to support life-saving research and fight cardiovascular disease. The event also featured a survivor story and award presentation to a 9-year-old girl who saved her father’s life with hands-only CPR.
“The Heart Walk was a great reminder that teamwork extends beyond the workplace, said Kimberly Sanca, supervisor, ambulatory operations, New Haven. “I was honored to walk alongside my team, as well as our colleagues at the YNHHS Heart and Vascular Center, to raise awareness for heart health in our community.”
