Hospital recognized for cardiac arrest care

Yale New Haven Hospital recently earned Get With The Guidelines-Resuscitation Target CPR and Get With The Guidelines-Resuscitation Target Survival awards from the American Heart Association. Both achievements recognize the hospital’s use of evidence-based guidelines to enhance patient care and its commitment to treating in-hospital cardiac arrest, ultimately helping improve survival rates. The Target CPR award recognizes hospitals that monitor CPR quality during in-hospital cardiac arrests. The Target Survival program highlights the number of lives a hospital saved by following current, research-based treatment guidelines.

Remember: No wipes in the pipes!

Employees are reminded (and asked to remind patients) never to put wipes, disposable head and shoe covers, specimen cups and other items in toilets. Inappropriate disposal of these types of items has caused sanitary system blockages that have led to extensive water damage and in some cases have required patients to be moved. Please dispose of wipes and other items in appropriate receptacles.
