Hospitals earn national recognition for excellence in stroke care

All five Yale New Haven Health hospitals have been nationally recognized by the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines - Stroke program, earning top honors for following the latest evidence-based treatment guidelines and improving outcomes for stroke patients.

YNHHS recognitions include:

  • Bridgeport and L+M hospitals - Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll
  • Greenwich Hospital - Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll
  • Yale New Haven Hospital -Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll
  • Westerly Hospital -Stroke Silver Plus with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll

“This recognition is a testament to the exceptional expertise and collaboration of the stroke programs across Yale New Haven Health System and the commitment to deliver the safest, highest-quality stroke care throughout Connecticut,” said Joseph Schindler, MD, director, Comprehensive Stroke Center at Yale New Haven Hospital and professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Yale School of Medicine.

“This has translated to improved stroke patient outcomes for people in the communities we serve.”
