PEACE recognition announced

These employees received PEACE (Patient Experience Award for Caring and Excellence) recognition for going above and beyond to meet patients’ and families’ needs.

Lauren Batchelor, RN

Lauren Batchelor, RN, York Street Campus Adult ED, was honored for compassionate care and advocating for a patient and her family, including an infant with special needs. The patient had recently moved to Connecticut for specialized care after a kidney transplant and the family was staying in a local hotel. Upon learning that the family and their belongings had been infested with mites at the hotel, Batchelor arranged assistance for the family, including showers, food, medical supplies, a new car seat and space at the Ronald McDonald House.

The SP 7-3 Neuroscience and Medical Specialty Nursing team

The SP 7-3 Neuroscience and Medical Specialty Nursing team was honored for their exceptional care of a pediatric patient with several rare, complex and challenging medical and emotional needs. In addition to medical care, the patient needed a care plan that included proactive measures to predict, prevent and prepare for dangerous and maladaptive behaviors. The impact of the team's compassionate care extended to family members, who were deeply touched by the level of support, empathy and understanding they received during a challenging time. The team's efforts improved the patient's experience and contributed to the overall healing process and emotional well-being of the entire family.

All employees, physicians and volunteers are eligible for the monthly PEACE recognition. Send nominations to: [email protected].
