How do you lift an MRI scanner? Verrry carefully

If you think moving furniture is tough, try unloading and installing a brand new, 11-ton MRI scanner. Crews at the Saint Raphael Campus did it recently, using a crane to remove the magnet of the new 3 Tesla MRI scanner from a flatbed delivery truck and carefully guide it to its designated place in Radiology. This new 3T scanner is one of the first of its kind in the country and is designed to provide faster, more-reliable scans, along with other capabilities.
