A registered participant will perform up to two minutes of chest compressions during a designated time frame. Neighboring areas can share a session. Continuous Readiness: Insulin Expiration Process Reminder

Insulin vials dispensed by Pharmacy and stocked in Pyxis or Omnicell have a 28-day expiration date on label(s) affixed or flagged on the vial. When vials are refilled or loaded into Pyxis or Omnicell, the closest 28-day expiration date for the vial(s) in that pocket is input. Pharmacy runs an outdate report every day. Any insulin vials with input expiration on that day are unloaded or replaced. Questions? Find Continuous Regulatory Readiness resources on the Accreditation and Regulatory Affairs department intranet page.

New Tip Sheet on Exposure to Illicit Drugs

YNHHS has a new tip sheet that includes safety precautions employees can take to protect themselves from exposure to illicit drugs. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines illicit drug use as the use and misuse of illegal and controlled drugs such as fentanyl and cocaine. Tips include:

  • Do not touch any substance of concern
  • If you see a suspicious substance, call your hospital’s Public Safety office immediately.
(For offsite locations without a Public Safety presence, notify local law enforcement’s non-emergency line or call 911 at your discretion.)
  • Use standard precautions

For more information and steps to take if you are exposed to illicit drugs, visit the employee intranet Thrive site. Under My Safety you’ll see the Illicit Drug tip sheet.
