2015 Safety Culture Survey shows value of HRO training

The 2015 Patient Safety Culture Survey results are in, and show that high reliability organization training is working.

A total of 7,534 YNHH employees took the 2015 survey, 18 percent more than the last survey in 2013. Part of a coordinated Yale New Haven Health System initiative, the survey included statements about employees' work areas/units and the hospital in general. Employees were asked how much they agree with statements such as "We are actively doing things to improve patient safety" and "We have enough staff to handle the workload."

YNHHS employees turn out to Help Our Hospitals

Hundreds of Yale New Haven Health System employees and leaders converged on Hartford April 8 for the Connecticut Hospital Association's Healthcare Day at the Capitol. Staff and leaders from the health system met with legislators to discuss issues critical to hospitals, including cuts and taxes in the governor's proposed budget, as well as regulatory burdens that would negatively affect hospitals. Even if you couldn't attend the April 8 event, you can still help! The health system has established a special "Take Action" page on the YNHHS website, where employees can create letters to email directly to their state representatives and senators. If you feel comfortable, you are encouraged to personalize the email.

Do you have suggestions about how to make YNHH a better place to work?

Use the Go Ahead and Ask form on the employee intranet to ask questions and share comments with YNHH President Richard D’Aquila and other hospital senior leaders.
