YNHH employees reach a milestone in United Way donations

Yale New Haven Hospital employees have done it again, donating over $202,000 to the 2019 United Way campaign. But that’s just part of the good news.

Over the past five years, employees have invested over $1 million in United Way of Greater New Haven. With these donations, United Way feeds the hungry, houses the homeless, improves local children’s mental health and wellness, boosts local students’ achievement and strengthens families’ financial stability. “For well over two decades, our philanthropy partnership with United Way has grown; and it’s part of who we are and how we give back,” said Michael Holmes, YNHH senior vice president, Operations, and administrative chairman of the YNHH campaign. “Thank you to all the employees who have supported the campaign over the years. You have helped make a difference in the lives of so many of our neighbors in need.”

Holmes recognized the team captains throughout the hospital who have helped raise awareness about the impact their coworkers can make by donating to the United Way campaign. He also thanked Kathleen Bruenn, manager, Laboratory Medicine, and Lynda Pasquarella, administrative assistant, Human Resources Administration, who have chaired YNHH’s United Way campaigns for the past several years.
