CHAMPs

Business associates, unit clerks, clerical associates, information associates and clinical services assistants celebrated their day April 25 with a high reliability organization-themed program and recognition of those who advanced on the clinical ladder. Lina Perrotti, director of Employee Relations, who gave opening remarks, and keynote speaker Sally Roumanis, RN, patient safety specialist, Quality Improvement Support Services, provided examples of how these professionals use the high reliability organization CHAMP safety behaviors every day. They also highlighted how their skill and compassion help ensure an exceptional patient experience. In her closing remarks, Lavenita Smith, business associate, Neuro ICU, reflected on the hard work of the BA/Unit Clerk Steering Council, which planned the event. The audience was treated to a skit performed by (l - r): Tracey Pue, unit clerk, Medical/Peritoneal Dialysis unit (Celentano 4); Ashley Okereke, business associate, SICU (SP 7-1); Mary Okereke, unit clerk, General Medicine (Verdi 5 North); Daevina Billups, business associate, Cardiac Step-down (SP 5-4); Sharlene Perry, unit clerk, Center for Restorative Care for Older Adults (Verdi 4 West); and Dionne Talton, unit clerk, General Medicine/ Oncology (SLA 3).
