Employee Engagement Survey 2022 kicks off soon

Don’t miss the opportunity to share your opinions

Yale New Haven Health wants to hear from you!

Employee feedback makes a difference, which is why YNHHS invites all employees to participate in the 2022 Employee Engagement Survey. The survey, themed The Power of Partnership, runs Monday, Sept. 12 through Sunday, Sept. 25.

Survey responses will help leaders assess progress from the last survey in October 2021 in the focus areas of communication, safety, employee well-being, accountability and action-taking. Employees’ feedback helps leaders understand what YNHHS is doing well and what needs to be done to ensure a great work environment.

“We strongly encourage all employees to take a few minutes to complete the upcoming survey and provide honest, candid feedback,” said Melissa Turner, chief human resources officer, YNHHS. “Leaders throughout the health system use your feedback to help make decisions and put practices and initiatives in place that support the meaningful work you do and create a more rewarding environment.”

As a result of employee feedback, including from last year’s survey, YNHHS took steps to address many concerns. As examples, additional training was provided to enhance employee safety and address workplace violence concerns; while the short-term staffing incentive program was implemented to address staffing challenges in areas with significant vacancies. Further, the health system will transition to Cigna as the employee medical plan administrator beginning Jan. 1, which will help improve the employee experience with claims management. Additionally, the YNHHS tuition assistance program was expanded to cover the phlebotomy and certified nurse assistant certificate programs; and the Employee Referral Bonus Program was enhanced to better reward employees referring friends, colleagues and former staff to join the YNHHS team.

“The challenges facing health care are complex and significant, yet we are committed to listening and responding where we can,” Turner said. “So, please take a few minutes to share your thoughts in this year’s survey.”

YNHHS’ survey vendor, Glint, Inc., will again administer this survey. The independent company will compile employees’ confidential responses and provide results in aggregate; no individual responses will be shared.

Survey participation is open to all employees hired on or before Aug. 15, 2022. Every employee with a health system email address will receive an email from Glint on Monday, Sept. 12, with a unique link to the survey. Since each link will be unique to each employee, it should not be forwarded to others, as it links employee responses to the correct organization and reporting structure. Beginning on that date, employees will also find the generic survey link on the employee intranet page. As they did last year, employees using the generic link will enter a private password to take the survey. This password provides access to Glint’s confidential site, and links responses to the correct organization and reporting structure.

Employees without computer access at work, or who prefer to complete the survey at home, will be able to access it on any computer, tablet or smartphone with internet access.

All employees are strongly encouraged to complete the confidential survey, as high participation strengthens the quality of results.
