YNHH names Magnet Nurse of the Year
On June 29, Ena Williams, RN, YNHH chief nursing officer, (left) presented Yale New Haven Hospital’s 2021 Magnet Nurse of the Year award to Lindsay Grasso, RN, DNP, Surgery (Verdi 3 South). Grasso is now YNHH’s nominee for National Magnet Nurse of the Year. She was honored for her outstanding contributions to nursing, including numerous research and evidence-based practice projects. Grasso implemented a fall-risk assessment tool that changed practice in the hospital and health system; an intervention to improve patient education compliance that dramatically improved Verdi 3 South patient experience scores; and the first unit-based Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
