Hospital departments at both campuses are invited to apply for up to $5,000 from the YNHH Auxiliary’s Project Grants Program for FY 2023. Requests must be submitted by Friday, July 1, for projects that directly benefit patients and their families and would not be covered by department funding. Submissions must be approved by the department’s executive director or vice president. Auxiliary Project Grants cannot be used for: gift cards, taxi vouchers, bus passes, meal vouchers for patients’ families, gifts to patients, patients’ prescription costs, positions or salaries, or food supplement and home monitoring equipment. Cover sheets and documentation should be sent to [email protected]; please include department name and request in the subject line. Supporting documentation should be scanned and attached to the application form. A maximum of six pages will be accepted per proposal. Closer to Free bike ride organizers have a variety of opportunities available for volunteers who want to help with the event, including the pre-ride check-in Friday, Sept. 9, and event-day assistance at the start/finish lines and along the ride routes (Saturday, Sept. 10). Yale New Haven Hospital has again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Chest Pain Certification. Certification recognizes healthcare organizations that provide clinical programs across the continuum of care for chest pain. The Gold Seal reflects a commitment to safe and quality care. The certification evaluates how organizations use clinical outcomes and performance measures to improve care and to educate and prepare patients and their caregivers for discharge. YNHH’s Chest Pain Program is part of the Heart and Vascular Center.
For the third consecutive year, Yale New Haven Health has been ranked among the best health systems in the nation for diversity, equity and inclusion. Yale New Haven Health’s free wayfinding app, Yale New Haven Go, is escorting patients and visitors to their destinations at locations across the health system using their mobile devices. The app uses GPS to guide people, step-by-step, to patient rooms, offices, cafeterias/vending machines, restrooms and other locations. Yale New Haven Go is available at Bridgeport, Greenwich, Lawrence + Memorial, Westerly and Yale New Haven hospitals, including Bridgeport Hospital’s Milford Campus and the Park Avenue Medical Center. The app also covers YNHHS emergency departments, walk-in/urgent care centers and Northeast Medical Group centers. People can download the app from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, or by scanning a QR code at each destination.
