YNHHS launches ambulatory telehealth platform
On Feb. 18, Yale New Haven Health was scheduled to implement a new ambulatory telehealth platform for one-on-one video visits with patients. Epic Video Client (EVC) is designed to improve workflow and efficiency by:
- Eliminating the need for patients to download a video application to join sessions
- Conducting hardware checks to help ensure microphones and cameras are working for clinicians and patients
- Using the same interpreter services vendor used for in-person visits
EVC replaces MyChart + Zoom for one-on-one visits; YNHHS continues to use MyChart + Zoom for group video visits.
A virtual command center is providing support 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday, and will remain open as long as needed. For more information visit Telehealth on the YNHHS employee intranet (under Departments and Communities) or email [email protected].
YNHHS Orthopedics among 100 leading programs
Becker's Hospital Review recently named the Yale New Haven Health and Yale Medicine Orthopedics program to its list of the 100 leading orthopedic programs across the U.S. Recognized programs deliver comprehensive, compassionate care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions and injuries and have expert providers who run cutting-edge clinical trials and employ the latest innovations in orthopedic technology. The YNHHS and Yale School of Medicine Orthopedics department has 52 faculty members across nine specialized divisions.
Information on community resources added to after visit summaries
Patients who need help with food, transportation, housing and/or utilities now have a list of resources automatically included in their after visit summaries (AVS). YNHHS screens all patients for social drivers of health (SDoH) needs in ambulatory and inpatient settings for the hospitals and Northeast Medical Group. The resource list in the AVS is from Unite Us and includes services and providers near patients’ zip codes. For more information check the SDoH clinical pathway in Epic.
