Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS), which includes Yale New Haven Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, Westerly Hospital, and Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) physicians, is currently in negotiations to renew its contract with UnitedHealthcare for commercial plans and Medicare Advantage plans. Because the current contract expires soon, UnitedHealthcare is required by regulation to send a letter to their members informing them of the status of negotiations.
If an agreement is not reached by the contract expiration date, YNHHS’ hospitals, NEMG physicians, and ancillary entities may be considered "out of network" for members of UnitedHealthcare’s Commercial and Medicare Advantage plans as of January 3, 2027.
We continue to be in active dialogue with UnitedHealthcare, and will keep our patients and community apprised as these negotiations continue.

- While we are hopeful that we will reach an agreement with UnitedHealthcare before contracts expire, Yale New Haven Health does participate in other payer Medicare Advantage plans (see Participating Medicare Advantage Plans below).
