Yale New Haven Health recently received the WorkPlace Company Partner Award for its Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician (PCA/PCT) Registered Apprenticeship Program.

The yearlong paid apprenticeship provides classroom instruction and on-the-job training and mentoring throughout YNHHS to current PCAs and clinical technicians (CTs), along with people from the community who have their CNA (certified nursing assistant) certificate.

The WorkPlace, originally incorporated as the Private Industry Council of Southern Connecticut, helps people prepare for meaningful careers and supports employers by building a strong, skilled workforce.

The Company Partner Award recognizes an organization’s commitment to workforce development through hiring, support and program contributions.
