Scotti Williams knows the value of knowing her numbers.
A longtime Yale New Haven Hospital employee, Williams swears by Yale New Haven Health’s Know Your Numbers (KYN) Plus annual wellbeing program, now underway throughout the health system. Williams has participated in KYN Plus since its inception in 2013 and encourages others to reap the benefits.
“I do it because I believe in keeping up with my health,” said Williams, a gift club coordinator in the Office of Development. “I see my primary care doctor every year, but I like to get my numbers because it gives me a sense of where I am and where I need to be.
“It’s so important to watch and know your body,” Williams said. “If you don’t listen to it and follow through with things, your health problems could get worse.”
Williams, who enjoys walking, said she also appreciates earning premium credit toward her YNHHS Medical Plan. KYN Plus provides benefits-eligible employees hired on or before Aug. 11, 2024, the opportunity to earn up to $500 credit toward their 2025 YNHHS Medical Plan premiums by completing a biometric screening, online health assessment and personal choice activities.
Onsite biometric screenings, available at all delivery networks, measure blood pressure, cholesterol, height, weight and body mass index. The online health assessment evaluates an individual’s health status, risks and habits. Employees must complete both to earn any premium incentive; the two activities will earn $300 toward the $500 maximum.
Those in the High Deductible Health Plan may complete the online health assessment to receive $50 in their Health Savings Account (HSA). VNA (Union) employees also may earn a $50 HSA contribution.
To participate, employees must first register on the Virgin Pulse platform. Already enrolled? Log in to the Virgin Pulse portal through THRIVE on the intranet or download the Virgin Pulse app.
