Yi-Hao Yu, MD, PhD

Dr. Yu is an endocrinologist of Endocrinology Associates of Greenwich, Northeast Medical Group (NEMG), Yale-New Haven Health. He has been practicing endocrinology for over 20 years. He is a recipient of several quality awards from Greenwich Hospital and NEMG and is among the Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors” as well as “American Top Physicians” by Consumers Research Council of America. He currently serves as Medical Director of Endocrinology and directs the in-patient diabetes program at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut. Dr. Yu received his MD and PhD from NYU School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Hospital. He subsequently held several university faculty positions teaching and conducting research in the fields of diabetes, obesity and lipid metabolism. Previously he directed in-patient Nutrition Services at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, served as the director of the nutrition fellowship program of Columbia University Preventive Medicine and Nutrition and Medical Director of Discovery Medicine & Clinical Pharmacology at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Outside of his medical practice and career interests, he is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) - co-authored the AACE clinical practice guidelines on nutrition and healthy eating for the prevention and treatment of metabolic and endocrine diseases. Dr. Yu has published over 20 original research papers in the top-notch medical and scientific journals, as well as many reviews and book chapters on the related subjects. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.
