Bridgeport Hospital

Marie Thiersaint, RN

Marie Thiersaint, RN, East Tower 8, won Patient Experience Award for Caring and Excellence (PEACE) recognition for September after a hospice patient was discharged home and inadvertently left behind her bedside medications, including critical pain management prescriptions. Thiersaint called the patient’s daughter to let her know, but when the daughter couldn’t get back to the hospital, Thiersaint reached out to the pharmacy to deliver the medications. The pharmacy couldn’t deliver them until the next day, so Thiersaint delivered the medications to the patient’s home herself. Her selfless act brought immense relief to the family, and the daughter expressed deep gratitude for Thiersaint’s kindness and responsiveness.

Amanda Post, RN

Amanda Post, RN, Burn Center, received PEACE recognition in October after the wife of a patient shared her deep gratitude for Post, saying she always felt safe leaving her husband in Post’s care. She said Post was consistently attentive to her husband’s needs, often being proactive and anticipating what he would require next. Her calm, focused approach created an environment of trust and healing for both the patient and his wife.
