Whether you need to secure your family’s future or navigate a difficult loss, you don’t have to do it alone. YNHHS benefits-eligible employees have access to two no-cost tools, LifeVault and Loss Support, offered through Aflac and provided by Empathy. Tune into an interactive webinar at 3 pm on noon Wednesday, Sept. 23, and learn:
- How to access and navigate the Loss Support and LifeVault platforms to see what services and documents you can generate.
- Why estate planning is important and how it can protect your family, simplify legal decisions and provide financial security down the road.
- Types of Loss Support services, including for grief, anticipatory loss, pregnancy, infant and pet.
- Which documents are right for you, such as last will and testament, power of attorney or healthcare directive.

Language Services webinar Sept. 30
In honor of International Translation Day, employees are invited to join the YNHH Inclusion and Belonging Council and Language Services for a webinar at noon, Wednesday, Sept. 30, on using Language Services’ resources when caring for patients with limited English proficiency. The session will highlight:
- The importance of language services in health care
- A review of available Language Services resources across YNHHS
- Instructions for making requests and using Language Services’ resources

Reminder: Include fall information in Rapid Response, medical emergency requests
Those requesting Rapid Response or medical emergency teams should indicate whether a fall has occurred to ensure the teams respond with all necessary equipment. Callers should continue to activate the appropriate medical emergency code (Rapid Response or Medical Emergency) and may add information about a fall. Operators will not announce the fall information overhead but will add the text to the Epic Secure Chat message delivered to responding team members.
Join a Heart Walk in October
Yale New Haven Health Heart and Vascular Center is again making strides with the American Heart Association with two upcoming heart walks. Check-in time for both walks is 9 am. Route length options are one to three miles. To join an existing team or start your own, visit the websites.
