Nursing Research Conference save the date and call for abstracts

Abstracts are being accepted for YNHHS’ 18th annual Janet Parkosewich Nursing Research Conference. Abstract deadline: March 2. Visit the Nursing intranet page to submit your research, evidence-based practice, quality improvement or nursing student scholarly project poster abstracts. The conference will be Thursday, April 23, 8 am - 4 pm at the Yale West Campus Conference Center. Watch for registration details, coming soon.

Monthly Mindfulness webinars available

All employees are invited to Monthly Mindfulness webinars throughout 2026. Webinars will be the second Wednesday of each month, 12:30 - 1:15 pm, with the next session Feb. 11. Hosted by Employee and Family Resources, these virtual sessions are for employees who are new to mindfulness or seeking to strengthen existing practice. Sign up for one, a few or all remaining sessions. Each will have a theme and brief lesson to support a mindful lifestyle. Register on the Learning Management System (LMS) through Infor. Search for “Monthly Mindfulness” in the Course Library.

Coming in February: Weight management webinar series

THRIVE Health Coaches will launch a four-week Weight Management Webinar Series, Wednesdays, noon - 12:30 pm, beginning Feb. 4. Topics include:

  • Feb. 4: Practical nutrition strategies for everyday success
  • Feb. 11: How to effectively make a meal plan, featuring a Cooking with Carly demonstration
  • Feb. 18: Emotional and stress eating, how to recognize triggers and build resilience
  • Feb. 25: Goal-setting for lasting change

Free nursing certification preparation e-courses available

YNHHS nurses can now access free, on-demand e-courses to prepare for certification in a wide variety of specialties. The health system has a one-year contract with Nurse Builders to provide the courses, which include videos, PDFs and quizzes featuring evidence-based content tailored to various nursing certifications. Nurses completing the e-courses will receive ANCC contact hours with PDF certificates. Visit the Nursing section of the employee intranet for information and to sign up.
