February American Heart Month activities scheduled

Yale New Haven Health is recognizing American Heart Month with plenty of activities and informative heart health information across all delivery networks.

On National Wear Red Day 2026, Friday, Feb. 6, all are encouraged to wear at least a touch of red (policies on attire and standards of appearance apply). Also on that day, special events and blood pressure screenings led by HVC staff will be held across the system. YNHHS’ social media pages will include National Wear Red Day employee photos. Heart health information will also be posted throughout February.

The 2026 Greater New Haven Go Red for Women Reception will be 5:30 - 9 pm Thursday, Feb. 19, at The Woodwinds, 29 School Ground Road, Branford. It will feature a pre-program reception, dinner, inspiring speakers and a fundraising appeal. Event chair is Meghana Rao Brito, MD, director, Women’s Heart and Vascular Program, Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, and assistant professor of Medicine, Yale School of Medicine. American Heart Association Connecticut Board chair Francine LoRusso, RN, one of the event’s first co-chairs, will be honored. She is senior vice president, Heart and Vascular Services, Medicine Services, Radiology Services, Yale New Haven Health. Visit Go Red New Haven for information.
