Hospitals earn ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group

A

Greenwich and Westerly hospitals recently each earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent, national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. The hospitals achieved the top score for the Spring 2025 report.

Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals nationwide based on over 30 performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

Greenwich Hospital earned “A” grades in spring and fall 2023, as well as fall 2022. Westerly Hospital scored an “A” grade in fall 2022.

“This recognition is testament to an unwavering commitment to patient safety and dedication in providing the highest level of care possible,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group.
