In December, the Finn family and members of the Greenwich community came together to make a meaningful impact for children battling life-threatening illnesses, presenting a check for $22,442 to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital at its Pediatric Specialty Center.
The donation was made in memory of 11-year-old Vivienne Cecilia Finn, who passed away in 2020 from diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) – an aggressive childhood brain tumor.
The donation followed the launch of The Vivienne C. Finn Foundation Inc., which funds pediatric cancer research; supports families battling pediatric cancer; and works to change state and federal legislation. The gift to YNHCH included $12,442 raised by the community, with the rest donated by the Foundation. The donation was accompanied by gifts to brighten the holidays for children and their families.
