U.S. News & World Report has again ranked Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital the #1 children’s hospital in Connecticut and #2 in New England.

YNHCH also earned national recognition in seven pediatric specialties, including Diabetes and Endocrinology (#19), Gastroenterology and GI Surgery (#26), Orthopedics (#34), Neonatology (#37), Nephrology (#46) and Pulmonology and Lung Surgery (#50). It’s also listed among the top 50 in Pediatric and Adolescent Behavioral Health.

“We are honored to be recognized once again for the outstanding care our physicians, nurses and staff provide to children and families throughout our region,” said Katherine Heilpern, MD, president of Yale New Haven Hospital. “Having so many pediatric specialties recognized nationally underscores the strength of Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital and our focus on providing innovative, high-quality care to every child we serve.”

“At a time when demand for pediatric specialty care and behavioral health services continues to grow, Yale New Haven Health remains committed to investing in programs, facilities and talent that improve access and outcomes for children,” said Beth Heinz, senior vice president of Women's and Children's Services at YNHH. “These rankings reflect both the dedication of our teams and our continued investment in building a comprehensive pediatric system that delivers exceptional care for children and families.”

The rankings also reflect the depth of pediatric expertise across Yale New Haven Health, with national recognition spanning a broad range of specialties and services.

“National recognition in so many specialties speaks to the expertise of our teams and their commitment to advancing care for children with both common and complex conditions,” said Clifford Bogue, MD, chief of Pediatrics, Yale New Haven Health, and chair of Pediatrics, Yale School of Medicine. “The rankings also highlight the collaborative approach that defines our pediatric programs, bringing together clinicians, researchers and caregivers to drive innovation, improve outcomes and ensure children and families receive outstanding care close to home.”

In addition to its primary campus in New Haven, YNHCH has an inpatient campus at Bridgeport Hospital and eight integrated Pediatric Specialty Centers, providing access to more than 35 pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties across the region.

“Our goal is to continually advance pediatric care so that children and families have access to the most innovative treatments, leading specialists and best possible outcomes close to home,” said Matthew Bizzarro, MD, chief medical officer at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, and professor of Pediatrics, Yale School of Medicine.
