Congratulations to L+M’s recent DAISY and Sunflower award recipients

Star

Mark Sagun, RN, Unit 4.1; Ryan Saros, RN, 5.4; and Alison Sullivan, RN, 5.2, were recently named L+M’s latest DAISY Award recipients after receiving glowing nominations from former patients and family members.

The DAISY Award is part of an international awards recognition program established by a family to honor the memory of a loved one by recognizing the outstanding nurses who helped the family.

These recent L+M winners demonstrated the same level of excellence in the care of their patients, and their winning nominations overflowed with words of praise that included “professionalism,” “kindness,” “dedication” and “compassion.”

Dannessa Parke, patient care assistant (PCA), Unit 4.1, and Tracy Sawaryn, Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), 4.2, each recently received a Sunflower Award for excellence in patient care.

Sunflower awards are given specifically to PCAs and/or HUCs based on nominations that highlight the care and support they provide patients and families, as well as their collaboration with teammates on their units.

Parke and Sawaryn were praised for helping to ensure their units’ success by helping patients heal, comforting family members and supporting, encouraging and assisting their colleagues.
