MyChart Communication Preferences and Text Messaging

At Yale New Haven Health, we want to make it easy for you to stay informed and in control of how we communicate with you. With MyChart Communication Preferences, you decide when, where, and how you receive important updates about your health.

Customize Your Communication Preferences

Tailor your notifications to fit your preferences:

  1. Log in to MyChart and select Communication Preferences from the Account Settings menu.
  2. Toggle your preferences under General Settings to activate or deactivate updates.
  3. In the Details column, choose how you'd like to receive messages—via phone, text, or email.
  4. Click Save Changes to confirm your selections.

Your care team is here to support you with timely and convenient updates. Our MyChart texting number is changing to provide enhanced options for messages about appointments, test results, billing, and more. Message and data rates may apply.

Enroll by Text Message

Simply text START to 89868 to opt into receiving text notifications.

Enroll Through MyChart

To receive text updates through MyChart:

  1. Log in to your account and go to Communication Preferences.
  2. Ensure the Text message option is activated.
    • If it’s your first time, click Verify to receive a code.
    • Enter the code on the Verification screen and select the types of messages you'd like to receive.
  3. Once verified, click Subscribe to start receiving texts.
