Smilow Cancer Hospital wins green building award (WIDN)

New Haven, CT (September 30, 2026) – Tracy Carafeno, MS, RN, executive director of Patient Care Services at Smilow Cancer Hospital, has been named the 2026 recipient of the Doris M. Armstrong Award for Outstanding Contributions to Nursing Administration, a prestigious honor presented by the Connecticut Nurses Association that recognizes exceptional leadership and contributions to the nursing profession. The award is one of the association’s Diamond Jubilee Awards, considered among the highest honors in Connecticut nursing.

New Haven, CT (September 22, 2026) – Yale New Haven Hospital has installed a state-of-the-art positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI) system and will become the first facility in Connecticut to offer PET/MRI imaging when the Adams Neurosciences Center opens.
