Excitement is building: Beam signing for Neurosciences tower

Be part of Yale New Haven Hospital history for the Adams Neurosciences Center! Staff at YNHH and Yale New Haven Health System are invited to sign the steel beams that will top off the Sherman Tower.

Markers will be provided for the beam signing sessions, to be held around the clock:

  • Main lobby, Saint Raphael Campus, Tuesday-Thursday, Nov. 19-21
  • Near the Atrium, York Street Campus, Tuesday-Thursday, Nov. 19-21

The official topping-off ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 - 4 pm Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Saint Raphael Campus. The event will mark placement of the final pieces of steel at the Sherman Tower’s highest point. A 32-foot beam will be hoisted during the topping off; beams signed by staff will be placed following the ceremony.

The Adams Neurosciences Center on the SRC will feature two patient care towers -- McGivney Tower and Sherman Tower. The project reflects Yale New Haven Health’s commitment to promote and advance state-of-the-art, destination neurosciences care and biomedical imaging. It will also expand our exceptional critical care, heart and vascular care and emergency medicine services.
