Shannon Strype, MD

Shannon Strype, MD, is a dual board-certified family medicine physician and committed patient advocate. Dr. Strype partners with her patients to explore the beliefs, experiences, and patterns that shape their choices and influence their health. By looking beyond symptoms to understand their root cause, Dr Strype provides a personalized, integrative approach that supports meaningful, lasting change and an improved quality of life. She has a particular interest in obesity medicine and lifestyle management.

Dr. Strype earned her medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in the West Indies and completed her residency at the University at Buffalo in New York. Originally from Canada, Dr. Strype has experience working within four distinct healthcare systems, providing a broad perspective on patient care and healthcare delivery. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her three children, two dogs, and a cat. Dr. Strype is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and in obesity medicine by the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). She sees patients 16 years of age and older.
