Nasheena Jiwa, MD

Nasheena Jiwa, MD, is a pulmonary and critical care physician, providing care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Jiwa offers a warm and collaborative approach to patient care and is committed to delivering comprehensive medical care to patients and their clinical needs. Her areas of clinical interest include asthma, interstitial lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pleural diseases, critical care medicine, and lung cancer. She performs diagnostic procedures including bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound. Dr. Jiwa completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas and double majored in human biology and French. She attended medical school at Saba University School of Medicine. She then completed her internal medicine residency at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut, where she also a completed a chief resident year. Dr. Jiwa then completed her pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Jiwa has traveled to Tanzania and Zanzibar donating her time and expertise at local village clinics and hospitals. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, ice skating and cycling.
