Dr. Manthous completed medical school and residency at University of Connecticut and critical care training at University of Chicago (1993). He directed the Bridgeport Hospital ICU (1993-2012), the Yale-affiliated Bridgeport Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program (2002-2012) and served on the Yale clinical faculty (1994-2012). He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, was editor of Ethics for the journal Chest, and chaired Critical Care content for the 2012 American Thoracic Society International Conference. He also represented the American Thoracic Society at the International Consensus Conference for defining shock (Paris, 2006), at the International Conference for defining acute kidney injury (Amsterdam, 2005), and on a working group on "Grading the Quality of Evidence (Toronto, 2005). He now practices internal medicine and critical care medicine in Niantic and New London CT, and is editor of critical care content for DynaMed a leader in point-of-care evidence based medicine.
