At a Nov. 17 ceremony at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, 26 Yale New Haven Health nurses received Marna P. Borgstrom and Peter N. Herbert Advanced Nursing Education Scholarships to pursue advanced nursing degrees.
The Hollander Family Foundation began awarding the scholarships in memory of Betty Ruth and Milton Hollander, who were inspired to support Yale New Haven Hospital nurses struggling to pursue advanced degrees while raising children and working. The foundation has since expanded the scholarship to nurses at other YNHHS delivery networks. Since the program’s inception 15 years ago, scholarships have been awarded to 135 nurses across YNHHS.
