Join Yale New Haven Health’s team for the Trauma Survivors Network (TSN) “Race to Rebuild” virtual event. This run/walk/cycle/roll event (distance of your choice) benefits the American Trauma Society TSN, which helps patients and their families during recovery from serious injury. Complete your race anywhere and anytime between May 1 and 31. Registration is $40 and includes a T-shirt, race bib and other race-day materials. On May 30, 11 am, the YNHHS team will participate in a one-mile walk/run, Foote Memorial Park, 12 Melrose Ave., Branford.

The Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) is partnering with the American Heart Association for the Fairfield County Heart Walk, Saturday, May 9, Sherwood Island State Park, Westport. Run check-in begins at 6 am; the run starts at 7 am. Check-in for the three-mile walk begins at 9 am; the walk starts at 10 am. Walkers representing the HVC at Bridgeport and Greenwich hospitals, Yale University, Yale School of Medicine and Northeast Medical Group will help raise funds to support lifesaving science related to heart disease and stroke. Yale New Haven Health HVC, a walk sponsor, has a $5,000 fundraising goal. As part of Community Health Improvement Week, June 8 - 12, the YNHHS Office of Health Equity is partnering with two Connecticut food banks to support those struggling with hunger. Volunteers can sign up to sort, inspect and pack food boxes for distribution at Connecticut Foodshare in Wallingford or at Commodity Supplemental Food Program in Bridgeport.
