Bridgeport Hospital recently expanded its general visiting hours to 8 am to 8 pm daily, giving patients and their loved ones more opportunity to spend time together during a hospital stay.
The extended hours are part of the hospital's ongoing commitment to improving the patient and family experience and recognizing the important role loved ones play in healing and recovery.
Bridgeport Hospital continues to support its Care Partner Program, which allows patients to designate a family member or close friend as an active participant in their care. Care Partners may stay with patients around the clock, receive information directly from the healthcare team, assist with care activities, accompany patients to select tests and procedures and learn skills to support care after discharge. Overnight stays are limited to one Care Partner.
“By extending visiting hours and promoting our Care Partner Program, we are creating a more compassionate and supportive environment,” said Anne Diamond, DBA, JD, president. “The presence of loved ones not only helps patients feel more comfortable and connected, it supports their emotional well-being and gives families the opportunity to be active partners in care.”
