Nineteen Yale New Haven Health employees recently graduated from the health system’s School at Work/CAPs accelerated pilot evening class. Normally a seven-month program, this year’s SAW was held in the evenings over four months. YNHHS’ Institute for Excellence conducts the program, which is free to employees without a college degree who want to continue their education or improve their skills. Classes cover math, writing, medical terminology, patient safety, resume-writing, interviewing and other topics. Graduates work in a wide variety of departments throughout YNHHS.
