Emergency care is available 24/7 for children and adults at all Yale New Haven Health Emergency Departments. Our Emergency Departments are equipped to treat serious or life-threatening conditions with advanced diagnostics, trauma services and access to specialists.

Whenever possible, patients are encouraged to use urgent care, walk-in care, or 24/7 virtual urgent care for non-life-threatening issues. These options offer fast, convenient treatment for concerns like colds, minor injuries, infections and rashes — often with shorter wait times and lower costs.
