“Urgent Care centers play a vital role in keeping communities healthy by offering accessible, timely care for everyday health concerns that don’t require a trip to the emergency room,” said Pamela Sutton-Wallace, president, YNHHS. “Our Urgent Care facilities provide a convenient option for routine medical needs, helping patients get the care they need – close to home and quickly.”

Health concerns such as treat wounds, sprains, strains and burns; complete school, camp and sports physicals; treat pediatric injuries and concerns including strep throat, ear infections, eye infections and flu; and perform X-rays for dislocated joints, fractures and pneumonia; among other urgent illnesses and conditions can all be treated at a Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care center.

“Opening in Wallingford allows us to extend the reach of Yale New Haven Health, making trusted urgent care available to even more families,” said Jeannie Kenkare, DO, president, Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care. “Our centers are designed to deliver quick, compassionate care, but also to connect patients with the full strength of our health system – whether that means follow-up with a primary care provider, referral to a specialist, or ongoing telehealth support. We’re proud to be a reliable partner in health, right where people live and work.”

By providing on-demand, convenient care to help patients navigate complicated health care issues, Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care goes beyond the traditional urgent care model.
