New Haven, CT (June 16, 2017) – Yale New Haven Health Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) formally dedicated a new multispecialty center in North Haven at 4A Devine Street yesterday with a ribbon cutting ceremony, bringing state-of-the-art health care directly to the greater North Haven community.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of the new Northeast Medical Group Multispecialty Center here in North Haven. At NEMG, we know the importance of physicians being part of the community they serve and most of our physicians live and work in the towns where they practice. This new multispecialty medical center brings 23 of our clinicians together to provide better and more convenient coordinated care to our patients,” said Prathibha Varkey, MBBS, president and CEO of NEMG.
Under one roof, this beautiful new facility brings together eight practices and one walk-in from the Hamden and North Haven areas into one convenient location which includes primary care, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, gynecology and pulmonary medicine. In addition, the Northeast Medical Group Walk-in (moving from 6 Devine Street) will have evening and weekend hours. Laboratory services, X-rays and cardiology testing will also be available to the Multispecialty Center’s patients.
“This is a powerful symbol of a collaborative vision that the town of North Haven had with Yale New Haven Hospital,” said Michael J. Freda, first selectman, town of North Haven. “What we saw here six years ago was a vision to create a medical epicenter and this beautiful building behind me represents the final piece to that. If we look at this collaborative vision, the wonderful services that Yale New Haven Hospital has provided, not only to the residents of North Haven but also to residents in this greater area, is a fabulous thing. But from a revenue standpoint, there is a lot more revenue generated for our town because of what we see here today, as a result of Yale New Haven Hospital coming here and being part of North Haven’s corporate family.”
