Mother’s day 5K is back in person May 8 benefiting Milford Campus renovations

MILFORD, CT (April 19, 2022) – The Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus Mother’s Day 5K is coming back in person.

Lace up your sneakers and join us at Milford Campus on Sunday, May 8 for the Mother’s Day 5K Run, 3K Walk and Kid’s Fun Run presented by Dillon’s Services. Click here to register at bit.ly/mcbhmomrun. Proceeds from this year's event will support the 3 East Renovation Project at Milford Campus.

Slated for completion in late 2023, the 3 East Renovation Project will transform a former maternity unit to a post-surgical age-friendly orthopedic unit. 3 East will feature 12 patient rooms, a family lounge, a multipurpose room for physical therapy and a conference room for staff education. The age-friendly design includes simple and easily readable signage, high-quality lighting, non-slip flooring, contrasting colors and furniture patterns for improved perception, stable furniture, spacious, clear walkways and rooms, hand railings on both sides of hallways and bed heights appropriate for older persons. Bridgeport Hospital makes additional investment in lifesaving prehospital blood transfusion program with help of EMS partners

Bridgeport, CT (March 20, 2026) – Ten months after Bridgeport Hospital launched its lifesaving prehospital blood transfusion program, the hospital is making even more investment in the program. Bridgeport Hospital is providing new, upgraded coolers for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies to store the blood that paramedics need to administer blood transfusions directly in their ambulances at the point of care. The $40,000 investment was made thanks to the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation.
