BRIDGEPORT, CT (Nov. 4, 2020) – Edward Snyder, MD, FACP, has been named director of the Blood Bank at Bridgeport Hospital.
Dr. Snyder is a professor of Laboratory Medicine at Yale School of Medicine and was the Blood Bank director at Yale New Haven Hospital for over 30 years. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Transfusion Medicine.
“Bridgeport Hospital is honored to welcome a physician with such depth of experience and expertise,” said Morgan Hills, vice president of Operations. “We are excited that he has decided to join the medical leadership of our hospital.”
Dr. Snyder received his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed his Internal Medicine residency and fellowship in Hematology at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center. He also served as an instructor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, and has held several teaching positions with Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Snyder has served as a consultant to the FDA and NIH and has over 250 publications. He has served on the editorial boards of several medical journals and is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Physicians, American Association of Blood Banks, and the American Society of Hematology.
