Milford, CT (May 17, 2024) – More than 680 participants, runners, walkers, and riders from Milford and surrounding communities helped make it a Mother’s Day to remember by participating in the Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk, 3K Fitness Walk and Kid’s Fun Run presented by Dillon’s Services of Shelton this past Sunday.
Milford Mayor Anthony Giannattasio and Bridgeport Hospital President Anne Diamond welcomed the determined, energetic and hearty and participants and supporters who braved a chilly start and the threat of rain.
“We were not only happy and appreciative of the turnout but the tremendous support from the Milford community, starting with Mayor Anthony Giannattasio,” said Diamond. “The generosity of those who donated in kind services as well as all who helped raise funds further embodies why we are so fortunate to play an integral role in Milford. On behalf of the Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus staff and our patients who will be benefit from the funds raised from this event, we want to say thank you and we look forward to an even bigger event in 2025.”
The event helped raise funds in support of orthopedic services at the Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus. The net proceeds of approximately $25,000 were in large part thanks to Dillon's Services, Unitex Textile Services, Milford Vascular Institute, Oncology & Hematology of CT, Berchem Moses, Patel Podiatry, and many community in-kind sponsors who provided food and beverages for all participants
