Ebony Dix, MD, is a geriatric psychiatrist who cares for older adults experiencing a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and memory challenges. She offers various therapeutic approaches, including consultations and treatments such as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), a carefully controlled procedure that uses a mild electrical current to help alleviate severe or treatment-resistant symptoms.
As an assistant professor of psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Dix is involved in research aimed at improving care for older adults with complex mental health needs. Her efforts focus on developing strategies to enhance patients’ overall well-being, particularly those facing cognitive impairments or mood disturbances.
