Get ready! Epic Secure Chat to replace Mobile Heartbeat
In September, Yale New Haven Health is scheduled to replace the Mobile Heartbeat application with Epic’s Secure Chat. Secure Chat, which will be pushed out to existing phones, offers a seamless, efficient clinical communication solution which includes calling, individual/group messaging, broadcast messages and alerts. To prepare, employees are encouraged to visit the Epic Secure Chat website for frequently asked questions, a video on Secure Chat features and more information on the transition.
Flourish in Stressful Times with EFR classes
YNHHS employees are invited to attend a webinar series from Employee and Family Resources (EFR) to help them develop the skills they need to flourish. All webinars are noon – 12:45 pm via Zoom. Topics and dates are:
- Connection – Tuesday, July 15. A feeling of care and kinship toward other people, promoting supportive relationships and supportive interactions.
- Insight – Tuesday, July 29: Self-knowledge concerning how emotions, thoughts, and beliefs shape our experiences and sense of self.
- Purpose – Tuesday, Aug. 19: Being clear about your core values and deeper motivations.
Register on LMS. Classes will be recorded if you are unable to attend. The webinars are eligible for Know Your Numbers+ credits toward your 2026 YNHHS premium. Participants are encouraged to download the free app, Healthy Minds Program, to use for practices in-between classes.
Monthly Mindfulness webinars available
Employees are invited to Monthly Mindfulness webinars the second Wednesday of every month, 12:30 – 1:15 pm Wednesday, Aug. 13, and ongoing. The class is for employees who are new to mindfulness or seeking to strengthen existing practice. Register on LMS. Search for “Monthly Mindfulness” in the Course Library.

Nurse education scholarship applications due July 18
Applications are due July 18 for the YNHH Platt Family Scholarship to help cover tuition in the second half of licensure nursing programs. The scholarship is available to YNHH employees currently enrolled in nursing school and entering:
- Year 2 of a 2-year nursing program
- Year 3 or 4 of a 4-year nursing program
- The second half of an accelerated bachelor’s degree program (at least one clinical rotation completed). Proof of continued enrollment and academic standing required.
