National Symposium on Value Innovation at Yale announces keynote speakers

Healthcare experts to focus on role of collaboration, integrating data to enhance care delivery

NEW HAVEN, CT — Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) announced its line-up of keynote speakers for the inaugural National Symposium on Value Innovation at Yale, taking place April 27-29, in New Haven, Conn.

The Symposium will feature leaders from YNHHS and Yale University discussing how they saved $150 million and improved clinical outcomes by reducing care variation. Additional industry experts will demonstrate how collaboration and sharing of best practices helps deliver better patient care whil0e sustaining or improving financial performance.

"Our speakers are industry experts representing all aspects of healthcare, including clinicians, insurers, educators and technology providers," said YNHHS VP of Strategic Analytics & Financial Planning Stephen Allegretto, MPH, a keynote speaker. The Symposium will include discussions on how:

• Robust cost accounting data, combined with EMR and quality data, allowed leaders to identify variations in quality and cost, and drive opportunities to positively impact healthcare delivery and reimbursement.
• A Yale New Haven rapid response nursing team leveraged predictive analytics and EMR data to reduce mortality by 30%.
• To engage industry leaders and insurers to develop strategic partnerships addressing clinical pain points leading to care and cost variation, and creating a climate of value innovation.
