Five Yale New Haven Children's Hospital specialties are recognized by U.S. News & World Report

6/11/2013 - Yale New Haven Children's Hospital (YNHCH) has been ranked among the best in the nation for five of its pediatric subspecialties in the 2013-14 Best Children's Hospitals rankings, published online by U.S. News & World Report. YNHCH ranked in cancer (#31); diabetes and endocrinology (#4); gastroenterology (#25); pulmonology (#44); and urology (#37).

This is the third consecutive year that at least five YNHCH specialties are ranked by U.S. News & World Report.

The U.S. News survey methodology combines clinical data points from 179 pediatric centers with a separate reputational score derived from a survey in which 1,500 pediatric specialists — 150 in each specialty — were asked to which hospital they would send the sickest children.

Yale New Haven Children's Hospital cares for more children than any other hospital in Connecticut and serves as one of the region's major referral centers for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of high-acuity pediatric cases, including diabetes care, complex bone disorders, hematology/oncology disorders, solid organ and stem cell transplantation, and interventional cardiology. YNHCH is also a Level 1 pediatric trauma center.
