Board Appointments Norma Pfriem Breast Center

Bridgeport , CT — The Norma Pfriem Breast Center (NPBC) has added three new members to its Advisory Board.    

Amy Scinto Corselli worked at her family’s business, R.D. Scinto Inc. in the Facilities/Operations Management Group for several years before leaving the workforce to raise her four children.  She graduated from Providence College with a BA in Art History and spent three years in New York City, working for Christie’s Auction House.  She recently sat on the Board of Directors at the Jewish Home for the Elderly (Jewish Senior Services).  Amy looks forward to following in the footsteps of her mother, Barbara Scinto, on the NPBC board.  She is very eager to be part of such a wonderfully warm, inspiring and charitable organization.

Andy Gleeman joins the board of the NPBC after many years of volunteering with the organization, for which he was awarded the Rose of Hope Award with his late wife, Beth Davis, in 2008.  Andy graduated from Colby College and the American Graduate School of International Management then joined Pepperidge Farm in 1983 as the Marketing Manager, International Business Development.  After leaving Pepperidge Farm in 1989, he became an Adjunct Professor at Fairfield University’s School of Continuing Education. He has also been active in the nonprofit sector, serving as president of the Dwight School PTA (2002-2003) and as a volunteer tutor at Mercy Learning Center. Andy looks forward to continuing Beth Davis’s love, caring and vision for the Center and those it serves.

Frances Rowland, a community volunteer, has served in a leadership role in several nonprofits, including the National Charity League and Westport Public School PTA.  She is a member of the Launch Committee of The AllStars of Bridgeport, an afterschool development program for youth living in poverty, and sits on the board of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale University.  In addition, she is finishing an eight year term as the head of the board of the Christ & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Westport.  Frances, an interior designer, has run her own business for many years.  She is a graduate of Wake Forest University and Parsons School of Design.  She lives in Westport with her husband and three children.  “Very few weeks go by without hearing of another friend or acquaintance who has been diagnosed with breast cancer,” she says.  “What a pleasure to think I can actually be involved in making their experience a safe and comfortable one.”

Part of Bridgeport Hospital and the Yale New Haven Health System, the Norma Pfriem Breast Center has served more than 20,000 women and their families since it was established in 1999.  One of only 200 sites accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NPBC), the Center provides a wide range of diagnostic care and treatment at its Bridgeport Hospital and Fairfield locations, including medical oncology, surgical and chemotherapy services, plastic surgery, mammography and radiation therapy, and genetic risk assessment as well as opportunities to participate in clinical trials.  The Breast Center office at 111 Beach Road in Fairfield also provides comprehensive women’s wellness services, including nutrition counseling, massage and Reiki therapy, wig and prosthesis fitting, counseling, yoga, Pilates, naturopathic medicine, and other patient support activities.  The Center has a satellite office on Park Avenue in Trumbull.  The Center is a member of the prestigious National Consortium of Breast Care Centers.  For more information call 203.255.5300 or visit online.
