A Salute to Allied Health Professionals

A message from the president of Greenwich Hospital

At Greenwich Hospital, our healthcare team consists of physicians and nurses, along with a group of highly skilled individuals known as allied health professionals. Physicians, nurses and allied health professionals share a common commitment to providing high-quality, safe patient care.

While the term “allied health professionals” may be unfamiliar to some, many people recognize the men and women who comprise this group – physician assistants, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, radiographers, physical therapists, dietitians, phlebotomists and many others.

Allied health professionals play an essential role in nearly all departments at Greenwich Hospital and at hospitals nationwide. Some estimates suggest as much as 60 percent of the U.S. healthcare workforce may be classified as allied health. These professionals collaborate with doctors and nurses as members of a multidisciplinary team that puts the needs of our patients first.

In this issue, you’ll meet some of our exceptional allied health professionals.

Danielle Neuberth, PA, treats patients in the Emergency Department. Olivia Enright, PA, is an expert in robotic-assisted surgery. Ray Scherer, DPT, takes a holistic approach as a physical therapist. Lisa Henderson, APRN, works with children and parents at the Pediatric Outpatient Center. Rich DeCola, RCP, monitors patients at the Sleep Center, while Joseph Cotroneo, RT, administers imaging tests that are key to developing a care plan for patients.

These individuals are just a few of the compassionate and skilled allied health professionals who help make Greenwich Hospital an exceptional place of healing.

Norman G. Roth, President and Chief Executive Officer
