YNHH names first Magnet nurse of the year

Nursing leaders, co-workers and loved ones recently surprised Catherine Ford, RN, (center) with the news that she is YNHH’s first Magnet Nurse of the Year. Ford, who works on the Heart and Vascular Center Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (WP 3), was YNHH’s nominee for a National Magnet Nurse of the Year award from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, which recently re-designated YNHH as a Magnet hospital. Ford was honored for her nursing skill, compassion and strong commitment to improving nursing practice and patient outcomes.
