Get ready for Heart Month in February

Heart health is important at any time, but it will be in the spotlight in February, when Yale New Haven Health’s Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) educates and celebrates with events involving inpatient and ambulatory areas throughout the system. Activities include:

  • Heart Month webpages at ynhhs.org that will feature videos on varied topics, including preventive heart health and cardiac rehabilitation. Viewers can also learn more about heart disease risk factors for women and congenital heart disease.
  • National Wear Red Day 2022 on Friday, Feb. 4. YNHHS’ social media pages will include plenty of photos of employees in support of heart health. Heart health tips and information will also be posted throughout February.
  • The 2022 New Haven Go Red for Women® online event focusing on women’s heart health will be at 6 pm Thursday, Feb. 10. This signature event, titled “Health Equity for Women: Overcoming Obstacles to a Healthy Heart,” will include two signature speakers, an inspirational survivor speaker and fundraising appeal. The event chair is cardiologist Lisa Freed, MD, director of the Yale New Haven Hospital HVC Women’s Heart and Vascular Program. YNHHS is the platform sponsor of the New Haven Go Red event. For more event information, visit NewHavenGoRed.heart.org.

Also during Heart Month, Yale New Haven will mark Congenital Heart Disease Awareness week Feb. 7 - 14.
