From truckloads of toys to carts full of cookies, Yale New Haven Hospital experienced the joys of giving and receiving this holiday season. Employees and community organizations donated thousands of toys that will bring smiles to our young patients year-round. As an extra thank you to hardworking staff, Yale New Haven leaders delivered cookies and other treats to employees throughout the hospital.
Faith Tremblay (left), a former Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital patient, and her mother, Lisa, had lots of help collecting, storing and delivering 5,215 toys to the hospital. The toys were collected through Faith’s Toy Drive, which mother and daughter founded in 2017.
Barrie Lobo, director, Food and Nutrition, (left) and Dean Caruso, executive director, Support Services and Sustainability, were among hospital leaders who delivered cookies to staff in departments throughout the hospital.
Respiratory Care staff stopped by the YNHH Auxiliary Toy Closet Program office to drop off toys they had collected. The toys will be distributed to pediatric patients receiving care at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
Staff with Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital’s Child Life joined Brookfield Police Department officers to unload tons of items collected during the police department’s annual Stuff-A-Cruiser toy drive.
